Terms of sale and use

Effective October 16, 2026. These terms cover paid web access to Grid Prep at gridprep.app. Please read them before you buy.

The short version

  • Grid Prep sells you web Full Access and runs the web app. Stripe processes your card payment.
  • Web Full Access is sold to buyers in Canada and the United States only, for US$24.99, once. There is no subscription.
  • You get one license key. It works on up to five of your own browsers or devices at the same time.
  • Access is for your own study. Do not share your key. Do not copy, scrape, resell or republish the questions, explanations or other content.
  • Refunds follow our refund policy: 14 days, no questions asked.
  • Grid Prep is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with NERC or Pearson VUE, and we cannot promise that you will pass.
  • Nothing here limits your rights under the consumer protection law that applies to you.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

"We", "us" and "our" mean Grid Prep. We run the website and web app at gridprep.app (the "web app").

These terms cover paid web access to the web app ("Full Access on the web"). They do not cover the free part of the web app or the Grid Prep app on the App Store.

Full Access on the web is separate from the app. It does not unlock the app, and the app's in-app purchase does not unlock the web. The in-app purchase is sold and refunded by Apple under Apple's terms.

By buying or using Full Access on the web, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not buy it.

2. Who sells it, and how you pay

Grid Prep is the seller. Your card payment is processed by Stripe, a payment company. Stripe handles your card details, and we never receive them. Stripe emails you a receipt.

Full Access on the web is sold only to buyers in Canada and the United States. Checkout is not offered from other countries. If a payment turns out to have a billing address outside Canada and the United States, we refund it in full and no key is issued.

The price is shown at checkout, in US dollars. Sales tax is not added at checkout. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the amount and may add its own foreign-currency fee.

Refunds follow our refund policy. We make them through Stripe, back to the card you paid with.

3. What you get

  • Access: every question, unlimited mock exams, Smart Review, the Library and sync, on all four credentials (RC, BT, TO and BI), for as long as we run the web app. It is a single payment and does not renew.
  • License key: one key, issued by Grid Prep. It is shown once, on the page you land on after paying. The button on that page opens the app's Unlock page with the key filled in; tap Unlock to use it. Keep a copy: you need it to unlock another browser.
  • Receipt: Stripe emails it to the address you paid with.

You must be old enough to make a contract where you live. If you are not, a parent or guardian must buy it for you and agree to these terms.

4. Your key and your browsers

Your key works on up to five of your own browsers or devices at the same time. Each browser you unlock uses one place. To free a place, use "Free this device's slot" in Settings on that browser. A browser not seen for 90 days is released automatically when the key needs a place. Your progress stays with your key.

Keep your key private. You are responsible for what happens with it. If you lose it, choose "Lost your key?" on the Unlock page and enter the email, receipt number and the card's last 4 digits from your Stripe receipt. Recovering a key gives you a new key and the old key stops working. Enter the new key on each browser you use: it keeps its place. A browser where you do not enter it gives up its place when the key needs one. Your progress stays. If you still cannot get your key, email us with your receipt number and we will help.

5. How you may use it

We give you a personal license to use the web app and its content to study for your exam. The license is not exclusive and cannot be transferred.

Full Access on the web is for personal use only. Your own short notes for your own study are fine. Otherwise, you must not:

  • share your key, or let anyone else use your unlock;
  • sell, rent, lend or give away your key or your access;
  • copy, record or save the questions, answers, explanations or other content;
  • scrape the web app, or use bots, scripts or any other automated access;
  • republish or pass on any of the content, in whole or in part, on a website, in a group chat, in a course or in another app;
  • use the content to build another question bank, course, app or dataset;
  • try to break into, overload or get around the limits of the web app.

The web app, and its questions, answers and explanations, belong to us. These terms give you the right to use them. They do not give you ownership.

6. If the rules are broken

If you break section 5, we may disable your key without a refund. If you think we disabled it by mistake, email us and, if we got it wrong, we will turn it back on.

Access also ends when a payment for it is refunded in full, disputed with your bank or card company, or reversed.

7. About the content

  • Grid Prep is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), its Regional Entities, or Pearson VUE. Credential names are used only to say which exam Grid Prep prepares you for.
  • The practice questions are original. They are not official exam questions.
  • Standards and requirements change. Always check the current enforceable NERC Reliability Standards and your own entity's operating procedures. They are authoritative, not Grid Prep.
  • Grid Prep is a study aid. It is not operator training and must never be used to run a real power system.
  • We cannot guarantee that you will pass any exam.

If you find a mistake in a question or an explanation, please tell us at patrguzz@gmail.com.

8. The service and changes to it

We work to keep the web app running. We cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may fix or replace questions and explanations, change features, or pause the service for maintenance.

9. Your data

Our privacy policy explains what we keep, why, and for how long.

10. Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection law that applies to you.

Within that:

  • The web app is provided as it is. We do not promise that it is complete or free of mistakes.
  • We are responsible only for direct losses caused by our fault. We are not responsible for other losses, such as exam fees, training costs or lost time.
  • Our total responsibility to you for any claim about the web app is limited to the price you paid for your access.

None of this limits any responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. A change applies to purchases made after the change. For a key you have already bought, the terms in force when you bought it keep applying. The exceptions are a change the law requires and a change that is in your favour.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Ontario can hear disputes about them. If the consumer protection law that applies to you lets you go to court where you live, you keep that right.

Before anyone goes to court, please email us. Most problems can be sorted out quickly.

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, our refund policy and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Full Access on the web.
