Answer C CR Form 1, with the date and time of occurrence

BAL-002-3 R1 part 1.2 requires every Reportable Balancing Contingency Event to be documented on CR Form 1, and the measure calls for the date and time of occurrence. FRS Form 1 belongs to the annual Frequency Response reporting in BAL-003-2, not to event recovery.

Question 2 · Recall

Recovery for a Reserve Sharing Group is judged on Reserve Sharing Group Reporting ACE. How is that value formed at any time of measurement?

  1. A. The most negative Reporting ACE among its member Balancing Authorities
  2. B. The hourly average of its member Balancing Authorities' Reporting ACEs
  3. C. The Reporting ACE of the member Balancing Authority that lost the unit
  4. D. The algebraic sum of its member Balancing Authorities' Reporting ACEs
Show the answer

Answer D The algebraic sum of its member Balancing Authorities' Reporting ACEs

The NERC Glossary defines Reserve Sharing Group Reporting ACE as the algebraic sum of the Reporting ACEs of the Balancing Authorities participating in the group at that time of measurement. Because the sum is algebraic, a member running positive offsets a member running negative rather than being set aside.
